This book was an easy read and had many facts. The book was made up of every inch of material you can find watching the hours of police video footage and interviews. If you don’t want to do that for free on YouTube, sure buy the book. But you should note that this book tends to paint the picture of Chris as the victim and Shanann as this overbearing wife. I think a lot of that has to do with the fact that the author was not able to talk to her family and only interviewed members of his family. I think it’s disrespectful to her memory in my opinion. At the end of the day, Chris watts killed his wife and children. I don’t care how “high maintenance” someone is, Shanann was a badass, loving, and attentive mother and wife. She wasn’t perfect by any means but she was the leader of the home and called the shots. Chris was a pushover who had a young pretty girl give him some attention while his wife was away. The tone of the book supports the fact that society can’t handle powerful women.
